Zoning Board Approves Meineke Car Center on Route 6
Zoning Board · Meeting of September 22, 2026
Somerset Zoning Board approves Meineke car shop, stalls contested lot-split case. The board voted 3-0 Tuesday to grant a planned development, special permit and variance for a Meineke-branded auto repair shop at 266 Slades Ferry Boulevard, despite neighbor Vanessa Barlow's objection that "I didn't move to Somerset to have a Meineke near me." Operator Milford Suprilis, who has run a Meineke in Raynham for 20 years, agreed to limit hours to 7:30 a.m.-6 p.m. weekdays and shut the illuminated sign off between 9 p.m. and 6:30 a.m. The Planning Board's September 23 letter, signed by Gary Simons, had recommended the project 3-0.
Elsewhere, the board unanimously approved garage variances for Benjamin Doyon of 69 Center Street and Steven and Denise Shagnon of 165 Butler Street, but continued Barbara Henson's bid to split her 175 Long Hill Avenue lot to November 19 amid a new, looser state variance standard effective July 1.
