Zoning Board · Meeting of July 23, 2026
SOMERSET — The Somerset Zoning Board of Appeals approved four home-occupation special permits and continued a proposed Taco Bell restaurant to August. Chair Steven Cadorette, Vice Chair Bernard Miranda and Alternate Michael Martin voted 3-0 on each permit, covering administrative work for a real estate business at 24 Napp Street, a handyman business at 31 Riley Avenue, landscaping equipment storage at 2835 County Street, and independent nursing paperwork at 263 Mass Avenue. During the Mass Avenue hearing, neighbor Joe Nichols said a floodlight "lights up my house at night all night long," and the board urged the two residents to resolve it directly rather than impose a permit condition.
The board also granted a request to withdraw without prejudice a setback variance for an accessory dwelling unit at 105 Harrison Avenue, and continued Edo New England LLC's Taco Bell planned-development petition for Assessors Map 89, Lot 226, to August 27 pending third-party plan review.
