SOMERSET — The Board of Selectmen approved a beer and wine license for Old Village Convenience Store. The 2-1 roll-call vote granted Osami Corporation's package goods license for 2756 County Street, with conditions requiring physical barriers on alcohol and a register that blocks sales during off hours. Selectman Todd Costa, participating remotely, voted no, citing market oversaturation and a past tobacco violation, and said he was "reticent to approve a license at this time." Attorney Jackson Christian represented the applicant, noting special legislation had authorized the license.
The board also tabled a County Street market's outdoor seating request after Building Inspector James Aguiar said a north-side vehicle barrier was still missing as of June 3.
