Planning Board Delays Taco Bell Stormwater Permit

Planning Board · Meeting of August 11, 2026

Somerset Planning Board pushes Taco Bell stormwater permit to September. Meeting with just three of five members present, Chair Gary Simons, Vice Chair Timothy Turner and Clerk Lloyd Mendes handled a light Tuesday agenda, continuing a stormwater permit application for a proposed Taco Bell at 721 GAR Highway to September 22 so the applicant can address peer-review comments, with staff noting the project's extension runs through September 30. The board also approved, without objection, a Form A "approval not required" plan splitting a roughly 20,000-square-foot lot on November Road, which one member called "one of the best" plans the board had seen, and reviewed a state priority-habitat map affecting four houses on Pleasant Street near the Broad Cove reservoir before tabling further comment.

Minutes from the June 9 and July 21 meetings were each approved 3-0. Member Nicole McDonald was absent.
