SOMERSET — The Somerset Planning Board voted to deny a request to merge two undersized, landlocked lots into one buildable parcel. Chair Gary Simons recused himself; members Nicole McDonald and Timothy Turner voted to deny the Bednarik application, while William Raposa voted no. Attorney Frank, representing the applicant, argued the board missed a 21-day statutory deadline, but members said the plan lacked legal frontage and was never complete.
The board separately gave KTC Realty Nominee Trust a September 1 deadline to pave the unfinished Luce's Landing cul-de-sac, backed by an $80,000 letter of credit, and hired Rue LLC to peer-review a Taco Bell stormwater plan, continuing that hearing to June 23. A contentious hearing on grading 59 acres at the former Brayton Point power plant, tied to the South Coast Wind project, was continued to June 9 with a July 17 extension deadline.
